Free chess tables on the north side of Bryant Park, across from the Reading Room, open daily from 11am to 7pm between April and October. Sets are lent for free and an attendant oversees games, and all ages and levels play. From 1 to 15 October the tables move to the southwest corner of the park, then close for the winter and return in April.
