Chess n Chill is a free weekly chess night at Old Spitalfields Market, run with the charity Chess in Schools and Communities. It's on Thursdays from 6pm to 8pm by the Central Kitchens food stalls, with a tutor on hand to pair players and help beginners, and there's no need to book. Last winter it moved upstairs to Kerb Social on Mondays, so check the market's events page from November.
